Saturday, November 15 at 10am Central Time.
Holiday Survival Skills: Finding Humor, Meaning, and Connection
The holidays can stir up stress, family tension, loneliness, and old emotional habits. But they can also offer moments of joy, connection, and meaning—if we have the right skills in hand. This 2-hour LIVE workshop is designed to help you move through the season with more ease, intention, and maybe even a little fun.
Together, we’ll explore creative ways to prepare for holiday challenges using DBT skills—from Cope Ahead plans to radical acceptance to raising your emotional set point. You’ll gather fresh insights, practical tools, and new ways to approach the season without losing yourself in the process.
We’ll explore:
Using Cope Ahead Bingo to plan for common holiday stressors
Keeping your values front and center (and letting go of what doesn’t matter)
Using Participate to show up with humor, presence, and heart
Applying the STOP skill in the heat of the moment
Practicing Radical Acceptance—on purpose, with care
Relying on the PLEASE skill to stay steady and well
Finding pleasure, connection, and even joy in the little things
You’ll leave with new ideas, renewed perspective, and concrete ways to care for yourself and the people you love.
This LIVE workshop is appropriate for anyone who is interested in DBT, clients, family members of people already in DBT, mental health professionals and the general public. There is no pre-requisite. The 2 hour workshop is conducted online using Zoom.
