Getting the most out of Therapy & Psychiatry, a DBT perspective Workshop
Saturday, October 18 at 10am Central Time.
Getting the Most Out of Therapy and Psychiatry
Therapy and psychiatry offer powerful support for growth and healing. This 90 minute LIVE workshop will help you get more out of your mental health treatment, understand the patterns that sometimes get in the way and how to work through them skillfully.
Co-taught by Diana Partington and a psychiatric nurse practitioner, this workshop offers clear, practical strategies for making the most of your care. You’ll learn how to prepare for sessions, communicate effectively with your providers, and recognize therapy-interfering behaviors—whether they’re yours or your clinician’s.
We’ll explore:
Therapy-interfering behaviors and why they show up
Ways to bring up concerns and stay connected in the process
Creating a simple agenda to focus your therapy sessions
Preparing for psychiatric appointments with more clarity
When provider behaviors get in the way—and how to respond
Tips for building more collaborative and effective relationships with your mental health providers
You’ll leave with tools to help you feel more empowered, prepared, and supported in your mental health care.
This LIVE workshop is appropriate for anyone who is interested in DBT, clients, family members of people already in DBT, mental health professionals and the general public. There is no pre-requisite. The 2 hour workshop is conducted online using Zoom.
